Electric Element

Description

John Surman writes:In 2012/13, there was talk of a large futuristic outdoor urban dance/theater production for about 80/100 actors/dancers, with lasers and all sorts of light effects on different stages. I was invited to participate and, with Ben and Karin, we eventually decided to work on some ideas. I think the initial project planned for a mix of live music and electronic music. Given the complexity of the project, it probably never came to fruition and remained just an interesting idea. It was likely too ambitious, and I suppose funding was never secured. The only information I could find about the production concerns two silent films made in 1927/1928 by filmmaker Eugène Deslaw, titled "La Marche des Machines" and "Les Nuits Électriques." These films were clearly intended to inspire the project.Limited black vinyl of 600 copies. Electro / jazz / unprecedented madness from two giants of jazz and experimentation: JOHN SURMAN and KARIN KROG.
