John Metcalfe’s new album, eight immersive compositions taking the listener through twenty-four hours in the life of one of nature’s most majestic creations. Tree is released on Real World Records on September 22nd, 2023. The Durutti Column’s viola master – composer and arranger for artists such as U2, Coldplay, Peter Gabriel and Blur, and co-founder with Tony Wilson of the Factory Classical label – was composing music spontaneously, instinctively, when the idea for Tree was sparked.
