Edition 2 CD of "Philharmonic! The Orchestral Concert". An exceptional recording of a concert by Barclay James Harvest (John Lees) with the Slaithwaite Philharmonic Orchestra. This remarkable concert took place on September 23, 2023. It was the first concert by Barclay James Harvest, in any formation, with a symphony orchestra in the UK since 1973. The Slaithwaite Philharmonic Orchestra, arranged and conducted by Benjamin Ellin, accompanied Barclay James Harvest for this memorable concert. The concert included classics from BJH such as "The Poet", "After The Day", "Mocking Bird", "She Said", "Galadriel", "Poor Man's Moody Blues" and "Hymn", more recent pieces like "On Leave", as well as two works not played in concert since 1973: the evocative "Moonwater" by Woolly Wolstenholme (performed by guest singer Eleanor Sandars) and the epic and majestic "Dark Now My Sky". Mixed by Stephen W Tayler and originally released in a box set, this new double CD offers the opportunity to relive this magical concert.
