No-One Driving

No-One Driving is a compilation of singles and B-sides by John Foxx, all released 45 years ago in 1980, and now reissued on black vinyl. It features classics like Underpass, No-One Driving, Burning Car, and Miles Away – the latter signaling a new direction after the minimalism of his album Metamatic. Some of his most notable works are found on the B-sides, including Film One and Mr. No, two favorites of Aphex Twin, as well as This City, which could have easily been released as a single. An alternative version of 20th Century even served as the theme for the television show 20th Century Box hosted by Janet Street-Porter (London Weekend Television, 1980), but it is this complete version that remains the reference. The album concludes with two previously unreleased tracks on vinyl, Cinemascope and To Be With You, later constructed by Foxx from cassette recordings, notes, and lyrics from the Metamatic sessions.
