With her new solo program, Johanna Summer continues the unique concept that already earned her first concert "Schumann Kaleidoscope" enormous recognition from the media, fellow musicians, and the public. With a profound technique, influenced by classical and jazz music, and impressive creative power, she improvisationally performs the music of classical composers. Always new, always different. While the previous recording featured Robert Schumann's "Kinderszenen," Summer's new recording covers a wide range: from Johann Sebastian Bach to Mompu, Ligeti, and Scriabin, encompassing Schubert, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Grieg, and Ravel. The result can only be inadequately described by terms such as "jazz" or "classical." Rather: an incredibly varied and personal reinterpretation of classical originals, marked by deep insight. Or, as piano master Joachim Kühn says: "Johanna Summer plays HER music, with a little help from her friends, full of imagination and without category."
