Shockwave Supernova

Description

The legendary JOE SATRIANI announces the release of his 15th studio album, Shockwave Supernova, on Friday, July 24, 2015. It is easy to define Shockwave Supernova as a masterpiece or a “decisive statement played on the guitar” created by the most popular guitarist of our time and with unmatched commercial success. However, Satch sees things from a more personal angle. He has never stopped pushing the limits of his instrument, a promise made on September 18, 1970, the day his idol Jimi Hendrix died. Recorded late last year at Skywalker Sound studios (Lucas Valley, California), Joe Satriani brought together the winning trio of musicians who recently accompanied him on tour: Mike Keneally (keyboards and guitars), who has already collaborated with him several times, Marco Minnemann (drums) and Bryan Beller (bass). “I couldn’t have dreamed of a better band to help me bring these songs to life,” said Joe Satriani. This concept album reunites Joe Satriani with John Cuniberti as co-producer and arranger. Satch and Cuniberti share the production of Shockwave Supernova, as they have already done on other projects - their shared history goes back to 1986 with Satch’s debut album, Not Of This Earth, and its successor Surfing With The Alien, certified platinum and acclaimed by critics.
