Jobi Riccio begins a new chapter in her career with Face The Feeling, her upcoming album, scheduled for release on May 15 via Yep Roc Records. Nominated in the "Emerging Artist of the Year" category by the Americana Music Association and winner of the John Prine Songwriters Fellowship, Riccio made a name for herself with her debut album, Whiplash (2023), a coming-of-age record rooted in folk and country traditions. With Face The Feeling, she breaks free from these influences, embracing a bolder, more electric indie-rock sound, mirroring the album's emotional depth. Where Whiplash explored the relentless quest for escape, Face The Feeling reveals a Riccio choosing to stay, confronting grief, rage, doubt, desire, and devotion head-on. Written between Colorado and Nashville and co-produced with her longtime collaborators, Isaiah Beard and Jesse Timm, the album oscillates between light and darkness, restraint and release, with Riccio turning discomfort into a path toward growth. Songs like "Pilar, NM," "Wildfire Season," and "Doesn't Matter" reveal an artist who prefers to explore her complex emotions rather than flee from them. After performing at the Grand Ole Opry, making her national television debut on "CBS Saturday Morning," and touring with Lucius, Jason Isbell, and Iron & Wine, Riccio arrives at "Face The Feeling" with clarity and confidence.
