In March 2024, Jim White released his first solo album, *All Hits: Memories*, forty years after beginning his career. With *Inner Day*, his second solo album, White further explores his percussive mastery, combining drums and keyboards in expressive duets where his personal meditations become sonic material. For the first time, he sings on two tracks, "Inner Day" and "I Don't Do / Grand Central," integrating his voice into his musical universe. An exceptional drummer, capable of leading a band or blending into the musical interstices, White has worked with a multitude of recent collaborators, from Bill Callahan to Cat Power, and continues his collective projects with Xylouris White and Dirty Three. *Inner Day* is a subtle balance between tension and rest, an invitation to experience music as a living and moving space. Recorded with his long-time accomplice Guy Picciotto, the album extends the hypnotic approach of *All Hits: Memories*. For director Jem Cohen, it's "Jim's conversation with the world, where music becomes an outlet for sensations and experiences." White continues his initial idea: keyboards and drums dialogue to capture what marks memory and deeply touches the mind.
