Description

'The Broadsword and the Beast' is Jethro Tull's 14th studio album, originally released on April 10, 1982 and, according to Ian Anderson in the liner notes of the remastered CD, contains some of Jethro Tull's best music. The masterful storytelling on this album, accompanied by Ian Anderson's incomparable flute melodies, was acclaimed by critics and has become a fan favorite over the years. The album blends the electronic sound, provided by Peter-John Vettese (a feature that would be explored further on the next album Under Wraps) with acoustic instruments. The Broadsword and the Beast is a crossover between the 1980s synthesizer sound and Tull's folk-influenced style from the previous decade. This CD contains 17 tracks including Steven Wilson remixes of the original album, related recordings, and a 28-page booklet.
