Visionary artist Jesca Hoop announces the release of her new album, Long Wave Home. "Writing Long Wave Home, as daunting as it was, became a refuge, a place to explore interpersonal relationships and the emotional fluctuations that accompany them. Writing an album can be very unsettling, but it's a discomfort I tame. What a privilege to be able to dedicate my time to examining my inner world, my relationships, and to draw music from it! Recording this album was a true journey, a quest – me and a hard drive in a camper van, traveling across England in search of material. I enlisted sound engineers Leo Abrahams (at The Shed in London); Jim and Rob Homes (at Empire Sound on the Isle of Wight); Jim Barr (at J&J Studio in Bristol); and Tim Thomas (at Blueprint in Manchester). I called on Jesse D Vernon for brass and percussion arrangements. I also brought in Sebastian Rochford on drums and Jon Thorne on instruments. On bass, Sam Amidon played various string instruments. For three weeks, I traveled through these sessions, recording performances. I slept under viaducts and ancient oaks, and woke up in sparkling pastures, bathed in dew. I discovered the best cafés and swam in the sea. These sessions were like discoveries, a succession of surprises, as the musicians and engineers colored the tracks, each in their own way. With my heart and mind filled with joy, I returned to Manchester, to Tim Thomas, where we organized the recordings like so many blocks of raw material and built the album. "Long Wave Home is not just a renewal of my commitment to writing and music production, it is an act of trust and an investment in myself as an artist, an affirmation of my vocation and my life path." – Jesca Hoop, January 2026
