Intégrale de l’œuvre pour piano

Description

On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the French composer’s birth, Brilliant Classics is releasing this beautiful box set containing the complete piano works of Erik Satie. Having become very popular in the 1970s, thanks to renowned pianists such as Aldo Ciccolini or Reinbert de Leeuw, these pieces, which are not limited to the famous Gymnopédies and Gnossiennes, have won over a wide audience. An inventive composer, Satie develops a world with a new aesthetic in which the absurd and reason, the imaginary and the real, are opposed. Cage, Stravinski, the minimalists such as Glass or Nyman, his influence on some major 20th-century composers is of great importance and is still felt today. Deep and poetic music, magnificently served by the hypnotic and almost naive playing of Jeroen van Veen, who proves to be the ideal interpreter.
