Jerkcurb (Jacob Read), an artist from South London, announces his second album Night Fishing On A Calm Lake, expected at the end of November, following Air Con Eden (2019). Initially conceived as a group project, the album took a different direction after the death of his father. It has become more introspective, exploring themes of grief, reflection, and redemption. His influences evoke Prefab Sprout, Talk Talk, and The Blue Nile, where silence plays a key role. Jacob Read produced and recorded the album himself, primarily at home. The vocals of Lara Laeverenz and Gray Rimmer feature on it. The mixing is done by Dilip Harris (King Krule, Mount Kimbie). The cover, painted in his father's studio, enhances the dreamlike and cinematic atmosphere of the record.
