Welcome to Orville's Discotheque: a synthesizer-infused concept album by Somerset singer-songwriter Jeremy Tuplin. The album is available via Trapped Animal Records on luxurious 180gm "Blue Suede" vinyl. An Orphic tale, Orville's Discotheque and its multitude of characters — Orville (more or less Orpheus), Eugenie (more or less Eurydice), Hermes, Hades and Persephone — draws inspiration from Greek mythology. Set in a world slightly removed from reality, the record tells the story of a disco-enthusiastic, imperfect anti-hero and his romantic misfortunes. The story could be set in the 70s, 80s, today, or perhaps somewhere in the distant future. Sad disco, dark disco, devilish disco, whatever name it chooses to give itself, Orville's Discotheque is an eccentric underworld.
