Norwegian musician, composer, and author Jenny Hval returns with 'Iris Silver Mist', a new album on 4AD. Named after Serge Lutens' perfume, the album unfolds like the eponymous fragrance, a kind of floral and hazy spectrum. Many of the songs on 'Iris Silver Mist' originated in the interdisciplinary play 'I want to be a Machine', where the artist sought to deconstruct the definition of music, to conceive of it as a concept in motion. The tracks feature numerous field recordings, blurring the line between music and the world around it. 'Iris Silver Mist' is an album about the stage, music, and their transformative power. About what moves us, changes us, and settles on or under our skin.
