Attention to fans of drone music and other admirers of complex sound architectures: Jefre Cantu-Ledesma will release a new album next February on Mexican Summer, a label always quick to welcome sonic adventurers. This seasoned activist has evolved significantly since the golden days of Tarentel (whose first album From Bone To Satellite, released in 1999, remains a pinnacle of post-rock). Now very close to Liz Harris (Grouper), with whom he collaborates in their project Raums, the American oversees the destiny of Root Strata (https://rootstrata.com), which hosts a good part of the contemporary drone scene. A Year With 13 Moons is announced as the result of Jefre Cantu-Ledesma's solitary experiments during an artist residency in San Francisco. The album will contain no less than sixteen pieces built around the theme of memory.
