Description

Masterpieces of organ music due to their intrinsic poetic power, these Trio Sonatas by Johann Sebastian Bach were composed between 1723 and 1725, during the early years of his cantorship in Leipzig. They are performed here by Benjamin Alard, First Prize winner of the Bach Competition in Freiburg in the organist category. After the success of the Red, Yellow, Blue, Pink, and White collections (a total of 60 reissues) that brought the gems of the baroque catalogs of the in-house labels back into the spotlight, here are 14 new titles that allow us to rediscover other treasures, whether baroque or from an earlier or later period. Like the last series, this 6th batch also opens up to classical repertoire (Mozart by Ensemble 415 and Chiara Banchini) or Renaissance (Févin by Doulce Mémoire and Denis Raisin Dadre); recordings that are an integral part of Alpha's identity and history. Fourteen reissues performed by the best musicians in the genre, most of whom have received one or more awards upon their release. Real booklets accompany the discs, featuring a presentation text in three languages (French, English, German). Photographers from all backgrounds illustrate the covers of the series, this time with the color green as a common thread, symbolizing nature, fertility… and hope.
