Description

After a first recording with Alpha, "Conversations" dedicated to the rare works of Quentin and Guillemain, Anna Besson on flute, Louis Creac’h on violin, Robin Pharo on viola da gamba, and Jean Rondeau on harpsichord continue to unveil the riches of a repertoire long ignored by the public, by recording the New Parisian Quartets by Georg Philipp Telemann. At the height of his glory, the German composer left Hamburg in 1737 to settle in Paris and enjoy its rich musical life. There, he composed a new collection of quartets that would be called the "Parisian Quartets": in these, he celebrates the meeting of the European languages of his time, at the peak of the Baroque. The four musicians and friends of Nevermind continue their joyful conversation here, still as virtuosic and eloquent as ever.
