On the brink of his 50th career anniversary and with seventy springs approaching, Jean-Louis Aubert continues to forge his path without faltering. The cyber-troubadour lives in his century, exploring the realm of his certainties and questions. As usual, there is a lot of material accumulated here. The album is called PAFINI, a nod to his desire to tackle things anew and especially an open door to new waves of songs that will be released in the near future. Within a transgenerational crew (Renaud Letang, Eliott Sigg, Bernie Grundman), the artist showcases a great deal of ingenuity in terms of melodic subtleties and arrangements. It is a societal, autofictional, liberated, warm album with diffuse moods, whose music feels familiar yet does not stoop to the slightest cliché.
