JC Satan is the collaboration between Arthur (Polar Strong, The Meatards, Crane Angels, etc.), a gifted child who transformed Bordeaux's grubby basements into his playground, and Paula from Turin, a composer, artist, and jack-of-all-trades, adopted and cherished by the national garage scene. Already noticed with their first LP, *Sick Of Love* (2010), followed by various collaborations with Le Pecheur, Born Bad Records, etc., they returned in 2011 with the excellent *Hell Death Samba* (Slovenly Records (US)), which garnered significant critical and public acclaim. For their third opus, *Faraway Land*, the band teamed up with the young and talented Parisian label Teenage Menopause (Catholic Spray, Le Prince Harry). It obviously features their signature sound: a sonic universe of unsettling beauty, oscillating between raw garage and deviant noisy-pop. As usual, the band refuses to repeat itself, steps out of its comfort zone, blurs the lines, and ventures into the territories of the Pixies or Queen of the Stone Age to deliver eleven epic gems. Once again, with *Faraway Land*, JC Satan delivers a bold and disorienting album, uninhibited music that, like Thee Oh Sees and The Black Lips, shatters the conventions of garage music.
