Inspired by the great figures of psychedelic folk like Karen Dalton and Linda Perhacs, Cherlokalate marks a turning point in Jane Weaver's writing in 2007. The British musician abandons the dream pop experiments of her early days in favor of more stripped-down compositions, where acoustic guitars, pedal steel, violins, and delicate harmonies accompany lyrics imbued with melancholy and introspection.
