Today, there are many promising young musicians, but very few of them can boast the kind of meteoric rise that pianist, keyboardist, and composer James Francies is currently experiencing. At just 23 years old, he has already performed alongside jazz stars such as Pat Metheny, Chris Potter, Jeff "Tain" Watts, Stefon Harris, Eric Harland, and Terrace Martin, while also making a strong impression in the hip-hop and R&B scenes: he was recently heard in concert with Lauryn Hill, José James, Common, and Nas; in the studio, on Chance the Rapper's records ('No Problem', a Grammy winner) and Kodak Black; but also as a guest of The Roots on The Tonight Show hosted by Jimmy Fallon alongside his mentor and friend Questlove.
