James Eleganz, the former leader of the band Success in the early 2000s, is back with a second album: 'Hôtel Augusta'. James Eleganz envisioned his second collaboration with Larry Mullins aka Toby Dammit (Iggy Pop, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds) artistic director and partner since "The Only One," released in 2019. Together they built his new album titled "Hotel Augusta". To evoke the texture of the city, electric and unsettling, they called upon the man with the Fender Jaguar, Geoffrey Burton, collaborator of Arno, Bashung, and Iggy Pop (him too). Bertrand Burgalat joined them on piano and bass. In an unexpected register, Burgalat played with enthusiasm and elegance the ten new songs of James with immutable themes: love and its madness. Recorded and mixed at Candy Bomber studios by Ingo Krauss, "Hotel Augusta," constructed like a nocturnal trip through a fantasized Berlin, lives up to its ambitions.
