Description

Solid Gold Heart is the result of the collaboration between Jad Fair and Danielson. Daniel Smith of Danielson has always admired Fair and has drawn heavily from the music of Half Japanese, the band Fair formed with his brother in the 1970s. The collaboration between the two finally came about when Joyful Noise Recordings named Fair its “artist in residence” for 2014 and Danielson was chosen (alongside R. Stevie Moore, Norman Blake of Teenage Fanclub and Strobe Talbot) to record an album with him for a future limited-edition box set release. Solid Gold Heart sounds just as expected: it features brilliant, warm melodies with sincere spoken-sung vocals and sparkling backing vocals that are full of optimism.
