And above all, a musician we (re)listen to with ever-increasing astonishment: how could he play like that at the age of twenty-four?... Supported by a dream cast (H. Hancock, D. Sanborn, W. Shorter, etc.), Jaco is in a state of grace. The duo with Don Alias ("Donna Lee") and his harmonic playing on "Portrait Of Tracy" are the most delightful traumas jazz has experienced since Miles Davis's "Bitches Brew" in 1969.
