J.BERNARDT is the stage name of Jinte Deprez, a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose career has, until now, been largely focused on the well-known Belgian band BALTHAZAR. For this album, J.BERNARDT began to explore many musical genres that have always fascinated him, but which he had not been able to express within Balthazar. This is perhaps why Running Days overflows with R&B, soul, and hip hop references; echoing the 90s sound of D'Angelo and the voice of How To Dress Well, over beats inspired by Child of Love and simple melodies like those of Gorillaz. Whether in the sunny choruses of 'The Direction', the jazzy and melodic brass of 'Wicked Streets' and 'Motel', or the deliciously slow tempos of 'Calm Down', punctuated by synths and breaks.
