G. for Kweku Of GhanIZEM for In Ze Early Morning The meeting between the Ghanaian singer and the French beatmaker is not a story of acronyms but rather that of a fruitful collaboration between two expatriates who, from their new bases, better capture the surrounding vibrations. Singer and multi-instrumentalist, K.O.G doubles himself each time a new musical ambition requires it. K.O.G. and The Zongo Brigade, K.O.G and The Allstar Revolution, Onipa Project, he also works solo, infusing funk, dancehall, reggae, jungle or house with his furious Afro sap that now erupts from Sheffield. Leaving with a guitar slung over his shoulder for Spain, it was in Brazil then Argentina that iZEM would collaborate on many projects before settling in Dublin, behind two turntables and a mixer, to finally head to Lisbon. A first album, Hafa, released on Soundway Records, but above all a permanent connection with Lusophone music coming from South America and Africa. iZEM + K.O.G., two gourmands of sound, experiences and experimentation.
