Although he is still at the very beginning of a promising international music career, Isaac Roux, a young Belgian singer-songwriter and the pen name of the young Ghent native Louis De Roo, already knows a thing or two about the difficulties of life. Autumn 2024 will mark the release of his debut album as Isaac Roux titled Troubled Waters, which will be followed by launch concerts in Brussels, Amsterdam, and Berlin. His first single, White Rose (which is not on the album), was an alternative hit in Belgium and the Netherlands, while the subsequent singles, The Right Place and Autumn Love, opened doors for him in Germany (radioeins), France (Radio Néo), and Austria (FM4), as well as on trending streaming playlists. The combination of warm indie folk and alternative rock from Isaac Roux, his real name, works even better on stage, never failing to leave the audience in awe, as demonstrated during a live session on German national radio (Deutschlandfunk Kultur). After impressing crowds at the Rock Werchter and Pukkelpop festivals in his home country, he did the same in the Netherlands and Germany (performing three times at the Reeperbahn Festival), and accompanied Dotan on his European tour in cities like London, Paris (La Boule Noire), and Vienna. Each song, and the album as a whole, offers listeners a glimpse into the life of Louis De Roo. Having not always had an easy life, he hopes that his music can provide support for those going through similar situations. "Winning, losing, dreaming, and hoping, these are just a few of the things that have made me the person I am today," says Louis De Roo. "And through my stories, I hope to offer a kind of moral compass to those who, like me, have sometimes been battered by life." Troubled Waters will be released on November 8 and will be accompanied by launch concerts at Privatclub in Berlin (on December 3), Ancienne Belgique in Brussels (on December 7), and Paradiso in Amsterdam (on December 21).
