After the critical reception of Love Songs, Inflatable Dead Horse returns with Hello Magpie, a long-delayed second album that has been reworked for over two years. Recorded in Quercy and then patiently mixed to its final form, the album marks an evolution in the band's sound. The compositions are longer, the arrangements richer, and the whole opens up to new influences, from krautrock to post-rock. Tracks like A Pin Drops or Creator (All Kinds of Love) introduce more repetitive and hypnotic dynamics, while other songs, like Fine Down Here, Sleep It Off, or Drive Me Home, extend the melancholic and intimate dimension that characterizes Daniel Mark Williams' writing.
