After the release of their first album, Il Est Vilaine enlists the services of artists and friends, each more talented than the last, to deliver a series of high-flying remixes! Tolouse Low Trax kicks things off with a deconstructed version of Yvré-L'Évêque while retaining the darkness of the track. You can hear a nod to the song "Holland Tunnel Dive," the anthem of Salon des Amateurs. For the eponymous track, Khidja was inspired by the sounds of the land of the rising sun, which fits perfectly to accompany the singing of Narumi Hérisson! A luminous version influenced by Sakamoto's Y.M.O. era, Golden Bug & In Field offers an alternative just as trippy as the original of Marilyn Drum, a journey between neighborhood hospitals and a deranged guru. Another version of Yvré-L'Évêque, this time Krikor takes charge and pulls out his sampler for a digi-dancehall version that only he knows the secret to, Faya! Rubin Steiner delivers a back-to-the-roots version of Bar à Gwin, blending deep house textures and nostalgic electro hip-hop of 80s-90s NY. The two Italians, Marvin & Guy, bring out the hits, guitars, and arpeggios for an epic version of Les Mystères de Lorient. To close the album, we find Narumi Hérisson at the helm of her piano for a dreamlike and sensitive version of Phare Ouest, where her voice and that of Yula Kasp blend in perfect harmony!
