Ihsahn announces a new self-titled concept album presented in two versions: one metal, the other symphonic. Ihsahn announced the release of his new album on February 16, 2024 via Candlelight Records. The Norwegian progressive metal visionary has dared to push the boundaries of creative expression even further with his eighth studio album, which will feature two melodically linked versions of the same album: one metal, the other symphonic, both creating a cinematic masterpiece simply titled 'Ihsahn'. Since 1991, Ihsahn has defied expectations and pushed boundaries. More than any other artist to emerge from the fertile black metal scene of the early 90s, Ihsahn has firmly established himself as an unpredictable artist. As the founding frontman of Emperor, he is universally recognized as one of the most important and influential voices in extreme music, and he is the figurehead of what was arguably the creative peak of black metal. Over seven albums, he has built a solid reputation for innovation and unapologetic originality, both in the realm of genre-breaking and in his indifference to expectations.
