Mestizx
Description
MESTIZX is the first album as co-composers, arrangers and musicians by Bolivian-born singer and multidisciplinary artist Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti and acclaimed Chicago expatriate jazz drummer Frank Rosaly. Partners in marriage and in art, Ferragutti and Rosaly, based in Amsterdam, delved into the sounds of their respective ancestral roots in Bolivia, Brazil and Puerto Rico to create a deeply personal meditation on decolonization and the defiant power of ritual and protest. They chose the title MESTIZX - a gender-neutral version of the colonial Spanish term for a “mixed person” - as a way to challenge and embrace the liminality of their identities and artistic practices.Buy Mestizx at the best price
