Ibadet Ramadani demonstrates her unique sense of intense songwriting for her self-titled debut album. Pop, folk, and Americana combine here to create ten impressive songs with a modern and timeless sound. Ten years after the end of her band, indie pop darlings Super 700, Ibadet Ramadani took her guitar into the forest. Alone in an arbor, she sought to discover if music could once again flourish in the soil of her life - and if so, what kind. And from that, desire and inspiration were born. Carefully orchestrated songs that speak of farewell, love, hope, and pain. Songs that are all rooted in personal experiences, some of which were also cathartic. Ibadet Ramadani's first solo album is both a monument to her family's memory and a collection of intimate songs about the human condition. An album that sings of things that feel strangely familiar and yet universal in nature. Musically, producer Martin Gallop wrapped these stories, full of small and great wonders, in an earthy-toned mantle woven from delicate threads of West Coast sounds. Depending on the light, sometimes folk, sometimes country, tuned to the sound of strings, Hammond organ, and brass. Above it all hovers Ibadet's clear and soothing voice.
