The Bell

Following the success of their two studio albums released on Kscope and their latest live film Ocean Sounds, Russian songwriters Marjana Semkina and Gleb Kolyadin, who make up Iamthemorning, are releasing their new album, The Bell. Their dedication to an avant-garde writing style has allowed them to create a powerful dynamic. They have notably been supported by PROG magazine as one of the most important bands in modern progressive music, earning them the Album of the Year award with Lighthouse at the 2016 Progressive Music Awards. The Bell is a modern blend of rock, classical, and folk, which uses the model of 19th-century lieder – a style established by Schubert – to tell 10 individual stories of pain caused by human cruelty. Engineering and mastering were handled by Vlad Avy, and recorded in March 2019 in Russia, the UK, and Canada across several studios: Mosfilm in Moscow, Lendoc and Red Wave in Saint Petersburg, Noatune in London, The Studio at Sunbeams, Penrith, and Union Sound Company in Toronto.
