To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of « Go For Broke » in 1976, a 6-CD, 80-track retrospective box set from singer-songwriter Iain Matthews.Contains 2026 expanded versions of his two albums recorded for Columbia Records during the second half of the 1970s: « Go For Broke » and « Hit And Run ».Two concerts recorded at the legendary Ebbets Field in Denver, Colorado, with his bands Motion and The Falling Rock Band.A rich catalog of previously unreleased tracks from Iain's archives, including a recently compiled live CD: « Columbia Years Live 1979-2022 ».Including six songs performed in concert and never recorded for his studio albums: « Payday », « Truck Driving Man », « Faith To Arise », « Nobody », « Palm Springs Jump » and « Trouble In Paradise ».Iain Matthews continues to record albums and perform live today. His musical career, which now spans nearly 60 years, can rightly be described as legendary. A founding member of the folk rock group Fairport Convention from 1967 to 1969, he left the group to form his own, Matthews Southern Comfort, which topped the UK charts with a cover of Joni Mitchell's « Woodstock ».In the 1970s, in addition to recording solo albums for the Vertigo, Elektra, Columbia and Rockburgh labels, he was also a founding member of Plainsong, alongside guitarist and singer Andy Roberts.Based on their 1972 debut album, « In Search Of Amelia Earhart », the 6-CD Plainsong box set, « Following Amelia », is also available from Cherry Red Records.
