SOUL-JAZZ TINGED WITH CREOLE. If there are feel-good movies, those films that bring enough balm to the heart to believe (again?) in humanity, Instinct clearly belongs to the category of feel-good albums. It is therefore no coincidence that the group that created it chose to include humanity in its very name: Human Songs. Strange name, isn't it? As if this quartet from Toulouse did what it said and said what it did: human or humanist songs. But it can also be heard differently: what if Cyprien Zeni (vocals), Pascal Celma (bass), Tom Carrière (keyboards), Frédéric Petitprez (drums) saw themselves as song-men as one speaks of sandwich-men? And that they sought not only to interpret their pieces but to literally embody them?
