Weather (deluxe edition)

Description

Huey Lewis may never sing again. The multiple-award-winning icon still hasn’t gotten over the news, and, ironically, his voice may never have sounded better than it does today. It would seem, moreover, that his vocal cords have nothing to do with the story, but rather his ears. But Huey Lewis & The News are determined to overcome this terrible ordeal and release Weather, their first album in almost twenty years, perhaps their last as well. Recorded at Trout Farm Studio in Marin County, California, this collection is as intoxicating as it is unusual, a true blend of rock, soul and R&B, as upbeat as it is sincere, ironic and thoughtful, spiritual and wise. Lewis’s voice seems perfectly weathered, delivering catchy choruses with ecstasy and authority, and the band’s bold, muscular arrangements are no slouch either, boosted by funky horns, thunderous guitars and a dazzling keyboard. Deluxe 2CD version.
