John Howard Jones (born 23 February 1955) is an English musician, singer and songwriter. He had ten top 40 hit singles in the UK between 1983 and 1986; six of those 10 singles reached the top 10, including "What Is Love?", "New Song", and "Things Can Only Get Better". His 1984 debut album Human's Lib went to number one in the UK Albums Chart. Worldwide, Jones had 15 top 40 hit singles from 1983 to 1992. His 1986 single "No One Is to Blame" reached no. 4 on the US charts. Jones was part of the second British Invasion in the United States in the 1980s. AllMusic editor Stephen Thomas Erlewine described him as "one of the defining figures of mid-'80s synth-pop." He performed at the historic Live Aid concert in 1985.
