Unlike his namesake Harry, Cipriani Potter did not learn his craft at Hogwarts, but rather from renowned British composers. Later, he honed his skills in Vienna, especially under Ludwig van Beethoven, who undoubtedly revealed particularly effective techniques. An undeniable magic can be felt in his works. Sometimes it is his enchanting melodies, sometimes it is the dramatic energy or the rhythmically urgent episodes that give his music such magnetic appeal, making it worthwhile to record all of his symphonies (at least nine) and adorn them with several smaller works. On this CD, we find the Overture to Shakespeare's The Tempest and an original Concertante for piano and four strings based on the popular theme La Follia, which inspires Potter to create a true explosion of temperament.
