Make Up The Breakdown, the first cult dance-punk album by Canadian band Hot Hot Heat, originally released in 2002 and filled with smart, energetic hits, is being reissued on vinyl in a fully remastered version. Following closely behind their critically acclaimed EP Knock Knock Knock, Make Up the Breakdown was recorded with Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden) at Mushroom Studios in Vancouver (with the help of Chris Walla from Death Cab for Cutie). Hot Hot Heat, like their peers Radio 4 and The Rapture, blended angular post-punk twitch with danceable pop, effectively persuading punk enthusiasts to hit the dance floor in the early 2000s.
