With DIRTY TV, Honeypuppy delivers a debut album with a deceptively candid aesthetic, oscillating between dreamy pop and subtle tension. Initiated in Athens, Georgia by Josie Callahan, joined by Adam Wayton (bass, backing vocals) and Will Wise (guitar), the trio explores the paradoxes of intimacy: euphoria under sedation, domesticated anxiety, floating joy. Conceived as a series with dissonant episodes, the record playfully subverts formats: hazy choruses, shimmering arpeggios, deliberately unresolved dissonances. Callahan's voice, both direct and detached, carries this fragmented narrative with unsettling precision. This debut full-length album confirms all the potential glimpsed on Nymphet, their 2024 EP, and establishes Honeypuppy as a band to watch closely on the American indie scene.
