Garage / Indus. Holy Scum has set up at Black Bay Studios on the remote island of Lewis to record All We Have Is Never, their second full-length album for Rocket Recordings. Faced with distance and logistical challenges, the band chose isolation to refocus. Holy Scum transforms abstraction and minimalism into monolithic forms infused with noise. There are blazing guitar riffs on "Thieves," a tense urgency on "I Am The Land" that references Fugazi and The Ex, and a heavy, cathartic momentum on "Witches," channeling Killing Joke and Voivod. All We Have Is Never is the band's most direct and uncompromising album, forged in solitude, rooted in raw emotion, and ready to explode.
