ZOOID is the ensemble led since 2000 by the famous composer and instrumentalist of the AACM who co-founded the trio AIR in the 70s. It should be noted that at the age of 77, HENRY THREADGILL does not seem ready to throw in the towel, and remains as productive and creative as he was during a brilliant career. The 6th album of ZOOID confirms since In For a Penny, In For a Pound (PI 58 / 2015) the replacement of STOMUTAKEISHI by CHRISTOPHERHOFFMAN. And why would he have needed to change his formula today since the uniqueness of this music allows each production or performance to be different from the previous one? Thus, in the exercise of a "serial intervallic language," THREADGILL allows each performer to infinitely vary their parts, starting from a play of notes from which he draws rather than from a fixed and rigid score. Five works establish the new repertoire: Come and Go, Poof, Beneath The Bottom, Happenstance, and Now and Then.
