The band had hired bassist Billy Rath to replace Richard Hell and composed new songs. This is how the story of L.A.M.F. FOUND IN AN ATTIC - a master copy of the original 1977 tape from Track Records, without muddled sound! This cult punk album, recorded in London by the band consisting of Johnny Thunders and Jerry Nolan of the New York Dolls, was unanimously criticized by the music press for its muddled mixing - a mastering flaw that proved to be the case. When Track went bankrupt the following year, manager Leee Black Childers broke into the offices of Track Records, located on the 3rd floor of Carnaby Street, and retrieved the tapes that belonged to him as well as to the band. He found everything except the master tape, which remained elusive until last year. The other releases were studio outtakes or remixes. Initially released for RSD 2021 in insufficient quantity, the album had been unavailable for three years. It is now reissued to meet the demand for this acclaimed recording, recently discovered.
