Aura Reworks
Description
Hatis Noit, a Japanese singer from Shiretoko on the island of Hokkaido, now based in London, announces the release of Aura Reworks, scheduled for September 26. This album revisits her first record Aura (2022) by surrounding herself with renowned artists and collaborators. Among them are legendary and innovative figures such as Laraaji, godfather of ambient and master of sound meditation, the cult rap duo Armand Hammer, composers and producers Jlin, Alex Somers, William Basinski, Emel, Matthew Herbert, Yu Su, and Preservation. Together, they offer new perspectives on Hatis Noit's vocal and spiritual universe, blending minimalism, electronic experimentation, and ancestral heritage. The album opens with a mystical reinterpretation of the track "Aura" by Laraaji, where Hatis's vibrant voice dialogues with the bouncing sounds of zither, kalimba, and tambourines in a transcendent atmosphere. Further on, Matthew Herbert offers a version of "Thor" transformed into a shamanic trance, which he describes as an "auditory hallucination" between modern techniques and a voice from another time. On "Jomon," Preservation evokes the memory of Japanese prehistory by blending Hatis's visceral cries with Armand Hammer's rhymes, creating a striking encounter across several millennia.Buy Aura Reworks at the best price
