Outerlands
Description
Centered on the organ of the Villa Aurora, a complex and largely unknown instrument built in the late 1920s by the Artcraft Organ Company in Santa Monica, California, Outerlands reveals a deeply personal approach to the unique properties of the instrument by German sound artist Hanno Leichtmann. Composed of a pipe organ, a marimba, and a set of bells and tubular chimes spanning two octaves, the Villa Aurora organ has a particularly rich sound palette, which the 12 short tracks of the album unveil by invoking the spirits of minimalism, exoticism, and devotional music.Buy Outerlands at the best price
