The sound explorer HAAi presents her second album, balancing raw energy and digital grace. HAAi returns with her bold and brilliant second album, HUMANiSE, an exploration of the subtle balance between a machine-led dystopia and an emotion-filled utopia. Throughout her work, Teneil has always sought to push the boundaries of electronic music. With this new album, she dives even deeper into the matrix. HUMANiSE questions what it means to be human in an increasingly digital world, as artificial intelligence threatens to overshadow everything and our screens distance us from one another. The result is an ambitious and thrilling epic, marking a sonic power surge and a clear evolution from her 2022 debut album, Baby, We're Ascending. The vocals — both real and digitized — play a central role in HUMANiSE, alongside themes of community and belonging. She reunites with close collaborators, such as Jon Hopkins, Alexis Taylor from Hot Chip, singer Obi Franky, rapper KAM-BU, artist Kaiden Ford, and poet James Massiah, as well as two choirs: Trans Voices led by ILA and a gospel choir under the direction of Wendi Rose. After years behind the decks, HAAi also brings her own voice to the forefront, initiating a powerful shift towards vulnerability and personal expression. Her vocals, strikingly delicate, add a new dimension to her electrifying productions.
