Description

Gwendoline is an antihero duo from the Rennes indie scene. Sensitive losers and world-weary cynics of the start-up nation, Micka and Pierre craft their own style, a dark shlag wave in a sharp, poetic spoken-sung delivery, with their primary source of inspiration being barroom conversations, watching those around them. At the end of 2020, Gwendoline also had the great doors of the Trans Musicales opened to them, a favorite of Jean-Louis Brossard, for a live show at the Ubu captured by FIP & Culturebox and accompanied by Maëlan and Romain, their stage accomplices. Written without pretension or ambition, the duo is surprised by the interest shown in the project, from their booking at the Transmusicales to the feedback from the press, including major international media (KEXP, France TV, Les Inrocks, Post Punk Magazine...).
