Vocalist based in Oslo, former student of the Trondheim Conservatory, Rohey Taalah has recently taken the Norwegian scene by storm with her quartet Rohey, which was notably heard at the Blue Note Festival in November 2017 in Paris, following the release of the album A Million Things (Jazzland). In 2015, she was named "talent" of the Trondheim Jazz Festival: "The Talent Award of the Trondheim Jazz Festival 2015 is awarded to a bold and free singer, with genuine curiosity and who puts immense energy into everything she does. Powerful and unusual, she is also a talented composer." Active with her own trio and the quartet Pixel, Ellen Andrea Wand has made a name for herself alongside Manu Katché, for whom she was the bassist for several years. In 2015, at the Kongsberg Festival, she won the DNB award, the ultimate recognition for an artist from the Norwegian jazz scene. She is starting to be recognized in France, particularly with the release in early 2017 of her quartet's third album, Eastern Smiles, which was unanimously praised by the French press. Hanna Paulsberg already has all the makings of a great artist. The saxophonist from Rygge, influenced by Stan Getz and Wayne Shorter, often compared to Sonny Rollins, won the hearts of the audience during her recent performances at the La Villette and Nancy festivals, as well as at the Maison de la Radio opening for the ONJ. She, who has been heard playing with Chick Corea, Bugge Wesseltoft, and Bobo Stenson, is the originator of this brand new project.
