A fusion of traditional Latin and Afro-Cuban rhythms, disco, jazz and funk, with touches of 70s sound production, this much-loved cult album featuring nine mostly instrumental tracks is a true treasure that deserves far wider appreciation. One look at the trippy artwork and you know it’s going to be special. Originally released in 1977 on Areito Records, a sub-label of the state label Egrem, it has become one of the rarest albums (even in Cuba) and one of the label’s most in-demand. It is the only album by Grupo Los Yoyi and was composed, orchestrated and produced by the mysterious Jorge Soler Leó.
