Discover on this exceptional box set the fascinating, deep voice of Gribouille, whose real name was Marie-France Gaite. This edition brings together her 35 recordings as well as a CD+DVD (taken from a tribute show in her honor) by Marie-Thérèse Orain. Jean Cocteau spotted her in the street at the dawn of the 1960s and introduced her at the Boeuf sur le toit, which launched her artistic career. Very quickly, she collaborated with renowned composers such as Charles Dumont, Gérard Bourgeois, Jacques Debronckart, Henri Gougaud, and Georges Chelon. Her androgynous appearance and deep voice, as well as her personal and ambiguous songs, won her an increasingly large audience. But her inner turmoil got the better of her! She recorded a handful of EPs before dying on January 18, 1968, from an overdose of barbiturates and alcohol at her home at the age of 26.
